Our clients contacted us to get our help to breath new life into their classic worker’s cottage for this unique whole-house project.

Having moved the original, run-down house onto a beautiful riverside vacant lot in West End, our clients wanted to transform the space into a lovely, vibrant family home that celebrated the existing architectural elements, without overcapitalising on budget.

Our vision was to strike a balance between creating beautiful, comfortable spaces throughout the house, but avoid expensive structural changes and finishes by making strategic design and building decisions.

To avoid overcapitalising on the design and renovation, the original kitchen cabinetry, benchtops, and splashback were cosmetically refinished. Similarly, some of the existing bathroom fittings were reused and reinstalled.

At the top of our client’s wish list was a mostly minimal palette with pops of bold colour so that furniture and accessories could be used to as a vehicle for pattern and colour to achieve a charming, eclectic feel.
